Visual Art Spotlight: Adelaide Randall

Visual Art Spotlight: Adelaide Randall

Above is a painting done by grade ten student Adelaide Randall.

Artist’s statement:

“During quarantine I discovered I really liked painting with acrylic paint. In August, my mom and I decided to each do a painting on a canvas and my original idea was to paint a rainbow hand in a wavy background. But while I was painting the waves I noticed they kind of looked like rough ocean waves, so I decided to do a painting of a rough sea instead. This was before I added silhouettes of sailboats and lightning but I personally think it looked better like this. During the time I was making it I decided that it would be a gift for my older brother, Grayson, since I’ve noticed other people seem to appreciate my artwork more than I do.”
