Review

Frankenweenie has been one of my favourite animated films since it was released in 2012. The story originates from a short film that director Tim Burton made in 1984 about a boy bringing his dog back to life, but the feature-length film really adds more life (and undeath) to the story. The film follows a boy named Victor as he deals with the death of his dog, who was his only friend. With the use of science (akin to that used in the Frankenstein stories), Victor manages to bring his beloved friend back from the dead, but at what price? WIth beautifully creepy animation, plenty of nods to classic horror, and lovely comedic moments, Frankenweenie is a great movie to watch with your family as we gear up for Halloween on Thursday.
